At 5 p.m., the Phil Whitman USCF Races (amateur and semi-pro) will begin. At 7:30 p.m., there will be a half-hour community event along the criterium course, including a first-ever “Hospital Bed Race” - a friendly face-off between Mary Black Health System and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System - and a Bicycle Giveaway & Children’s Fun Ride.

At 8 p.m., the SmithBarney Classic Pro-race will begin, with cyclists gaining speeds up to 40 mph around tight curves and through crowded corridors.
