October 23, 2006 Tickets are available in the executive offices on the second floor of the Marriott. They are $30 each, or $250 for a table of 10. The theme for the luncheon is "Coaches-A-Plenty," an old Spartanburg term because we will have plenty of head coaches at the luncheon. Already committed from the state of South Carolina are Tommy Bowden (Clemson), Mike Ayers (Wofford), George Rogers (former South Carolina player, Heismann Trophy winner) and possibly a coach from the University of South Carolina. Already committed from the state of North Carolina are John Bunting (North Carolina), Chuck Amato (NC State). Tentatives include Jim Grobe (Wake Forest).
The Spartanburg
Touchdown/Tip-Off Club serves as host for the luncheon.
Pete Yanity of News Channel 7 and the Clemson Sports Network
will be the master of ceremonies.
The luncheon will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. The 88 players and coaches of the Shrine Bowl will attend the luncheon. Be sure to bring your customers, friends and relatives.
